Idly browsing for a movie to watch this afternoon, given that it's apparently going to be pissing down, I just discovered that BBC1 is giving two and half hours over to The Boat Race - a 25 minute display of mind-numbing tedium and pointlessness, to which some chinless wonder has decided to add a barely-believable two hours of padding. Up the upper classes, what?

This sort of thing narks me about most sporting events these days, I.e hours of pre-amble and post event analysis. Just get on with the event!

You have a choice - the kick-off times are well advertised - just dont watch the preamble - or if you are that way inclined dont watch any of it - but why bother to moan about something that has absolutely no effect on you

Well, why bother to comment on a comment that has absolutely no effect on you.

Why do Oxford and Cambridge always get to the final?

It is only interesting when one of the boats sink. They should allow them to ram each other for a bit of excitement.
