My son and his friends are debating this.
To me it was always a lolly ice.

What's a lolley? Surely it's a lolly? An ice lolly.

My memories are of "Pendleton Twicers". Ice lolly, covering ice cream. I can still remember the advertising jingle
"What could be nicer, than a Pendleton's Twicer".

Sadly a Merseyside ice cream factory, that eventually got bought out and ceased trading.

that was a mivvi down south, wonder if lyons maid pinched the idea from pendleton
