So you can have access to the internet when you are all alone in a van at night, miles away from your wife???

Oh aye. Those factual programmes with Hannah Fry are quite, er, stimulating.

Had a virtual dash upgrade fitted. Very sexy.

The campsite in Benllech we stayed at last year had a converted military truck. Looked ace, but it was on a seasonal pitch - there was enough to say it was there all the time - be a right pain getting in and out the lane to the site.

I may have a slight 'fun' upgrade to Van Diesel. Daughter has seen it, but I won't do the 'switch on' until we are on site next Friday.

We've already got custom made thermal blackout blinds for the van (all windows as mine is a people carrier aka minibus). Lots of campers get the blinds with 'eyes' on the external fabric to look like a vehicle from Disney Cars. I think they are fun, but not cheap, and I've already got a thermal blind.

Sooo, I've bought some 'electronic' devil eyes. They will run happily off a usb bank. Pictures to follow next week on 'site'. I've had a play, they are well cool. They aren't for a 'quiet' camp site. This one is quite busy with all age ranges. I suspect the kids will love them.

OK camping tat....

The horn on the KDFvanwagen is a bit feeble, so I've taken matters into my own hands and today arrived the necessary bits required to pep it up a wee bit. I'll fit it next week.

That is something I am looking at too. I've gone from a car with a super loud dual tone horn, that sounded ace, to a feeble 'neep'. I rarely use them, but a big hooter was a way to wake a dosey bugger up.

MrsF also hates her car's 'Neep'.

Unfortunately, my 'neep' is a bit buried deep down behind the mahoosive body coloured bumper, so I ain't taking that off for fear of scratching it. I'll just carry on feeling 'inadequate'.

Aye, its a dual tone thing. Its a kit, a single horn with a loom to plug into the original horn loom and then splits to feed the original horn and the new one. Ill get the KDFvanwagen up on the ramps and go innunder the front bumper- removing a wheel and stepping the arch trim is a needless PITA.

At least it's a kit, and that's what is good about VW - aftermarket stuff. Mine isn't accessible, it's too far 'in the middle'. The cars locations are easy, top trim off between bumper and engine bay, the horn was just a few inches down. I only found the horn's location on the van last week, and thought.. nah.
