When I was a kid a garage near me used to sell these, I thought they were fantastic although I was a bit put off when I read they only did about 10 mpg.

When I was young (13 - 14?) the owner of one of the Fish & Chip shops in the village had one
That thing sounds hideous!
You've never stood behind one at tick-over then?
If you squat down, you can feel the pressure-waves, from the exhaust, on your chest
Plus, a stereo 5.0litre V8 soundtrack

I test-drove a few TVRs, when SWMBO had told me she'd looked at a XKR
(having previously driven Chimera, Griffith 500, & Sagaris on a - 40th birthday - trackday)
The Sagaris was a mental-machine

I was sorely, sorely, tempted by a Cerbera (the 4.5litre model), but wife preferred the lines of the XKR
However, to this day, I'd still have a Griff 500:wub:
That's got to be the best application of the Rover V8 (yes.... I know it's originally a Buick engine)
Second best was the Land Rover 101FC

i had an old 3000m for a few months like driving a powerful go cart

And how about the Austin A40 series?
I had a 1953 Devon, registration number GAP 39. An old fella who lived across the road gave it to me, as he could no longer drive, and knew that I would cherish, it as he had. It was a lovely car, noted for its droopy door handles and propensity for blowing head gaskets due to the two centre cylinders being less than half an inch apart.

A friend in the A40 club had an Atlantic, which was an aluminium body, styled by Jenson.

My ex bil and I once bought a Triumph Herald convertible for the princely sum of £15, it was in poor condition but complete, we proceeded to strip it down to the chassis and running gear scrapping the rest of the car. We then built a Moss MG TF replica on the chassis which was a bit of a head turner when completed. I often think we should have restored the Herald as it would have been a lot more interesting and probably worth a lot more than the kit car. http://static.mgexp.com/phile/46/222046/MG_TF_Replica.jpg

Swap the bodyshell (it only bolts on to the chassis0 and you've got one of these,

I think I preferred the herald / vitesse shape - especially the vitesse 4 headlight front. Two proper seats in the back too

At the HSCC meeting at Silverstone over the weekend, one spectator turned up in a car that probably wasn't one of the cars that made Britain great.

A 'W' registration Morris Ital. 1.3L. In beige. Probably rarer than some of the cars on track!
