We were going to drive up ‘The Struggle’ yesterday, but it was closed to traffic for the ‘National Hill-Climb Championships’!

Promenade
Grange-over-Sands

Closed in 1993, & essentially abandoned ever since
Work has begun!!

Thursday 2nd
1.

I nipped into Wakefield (Waterstones) to pick up a book, l’d ordered
Whilst there, l had a quick look along WestGate
It’s undergoing some restoration/cleaning up

The first building to be done is the frontage to;

Black Swan Yard
Silver Street
WestGate

The scaffolded building was erected in the early 60s, & replaced a timber framed building that was just as ornate as the Shop front

I’ll return when l know the scaffolding is gone

The pub itself (Black Swan) is through gateway, into ’Black Swan Yard’
