Due to the weekends high winds!
The top of the damage is about 10foot above the ground

Slightly to the west of this, but still in the blue circle; https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/7456650

My parents offered to take Joanne & myself out for tea last night, & wanted to go here
As they were paying, & l was merely driving, it wasn’t a problem

There’s an old Chapel opposite that has been converted into houses
One of them has interesting stained glass

* The old road; pre-M1
It was cut when the section between jct 41 & jct 42 opened (‘Carr Gate Interchange’, where it meets the M62)
Look at the OS map, to see both ‘arms’
(between the ‘41’ & the blue circle)
West Yorkshire Police Traffic/Dogs/Horses/Helicopter are nearby
(as is their ‘riot training centre’)

On today's ride I managed to sneak into the maintenance access as, usually, it's only possible to get a photo with fencing etc in the shot!
All the buildings around it have been, or are being, demolished but I believe the tower has been listed. 👍
It now stands proud(ish) in the middle of new housing developments.

It's a landmark and there are quite a few of the old buildings re purposed in area.

Did you stop at the Greek Church on the opposite side of the road?

I have looked at it a couple of times as pretty sure there's a benchmark on it but not found it.

I think I put the Greek Church in the Church thread a while ago. I, too, checked unsuccessfully for the BM...

That's where it's supposed to be!

The last time l passed this house*, it was barely visible for trees & undergrowth
I wonder if the clearance is to gain access for demolition, or a complete renovation

I’ll go with demolition, but l’m sure one of the many people l know who live in the village will inform me

* I used to drive past it sometimes on the ‘school-run’, & run past it on a very regular basis, with the https://www.ackworthroadrunners.club/

EDIT @ 14:50
I am informed, via Facebook, by an ex running friend, that it’s to be built on
Thanks, Bex

Back Lane, Hardingstone.. I've ridden past this numerous times and nit noticed it! The sun was at exactly the correct angle to cast a shadow across the mark ti spot it!
