The Green Dragon & Ponty Tavern

I only noticed the plaque on the 'Dragons' door, as my wife rang me, & I stood there a moment

The Ponty Tavern adjoins it

I'll never understand why the current owners of the Ponty Tavern decided that it made sense to paint it battleship grey rather than clean up the beautiful green glazed bricks on the ground floor.

I’d taken my parents there when l finished work

When l was a kid, this was (Clifford) Sheards Chemist
It was an old style shop, where he knew almost all of his customers
I remember that ‘back in the day’, he also sold sherry (& others) from plastic ‘barrels’ by the counter
(bring your own bottles!!)

The M62, as seen here is the section between jct 29 (Thorpe Interchange, where it crosses the M1) & jct 30

As An Aside; it's rare that I go down this road for any reason, but I did see 3 newish Range Rovers down there, probably less than 3 years old (but I don't really know what's what, with them nowadays)
- 2 x at one house
- the 3rd at another, with a 'pimp my ride' style G-Wagon next door to that!
