Presumably there's a thriving after market in fake Mercedes badges and bling wheels for potential owners who want to pretend it's an electric G Wagon.

My car isn't one of these. But it is a bit higher than some cars.

For those of you who drive an SUV, and put bikes on top, what step ladder, stool or similar do you use to get the height you need?

I'm feeling marginalised. I think my car weighs maybe 1700kg or thereabouts, so it doesn't fit the requirements of this thread OR the other one about small SUVs.

Do I need to start a new thread called the Inbetweeners?

I used to watch Les Hiddins, when he was on British TV (can't remember if terrestrial, or SKY?)
That Isuzu (probably!) engined One-Ten looked so good, even if rolled up tilt & no door-tops wasn't ideal in this country
(it's probably a Perentie)

There was a special, a few years ago, when the question a lot of fans of both were asking, was finally answered.......... a trip to Australia for Ray Mears to meet Les

Les was a legend, iirc he came up with the idea of putting bushcraft info on the backs RAAF maps, so that in the event of an aircraft coming down in the bush, it would give the survivors a fighting chance of staying alive long enough to be picked up, it's where the idea for The Bushtucker Man series came from, after his travels around Australia recording what you can & can't eat, where to get water, & how to build a shelter for the Australian Military
