I used to ride a motorbike and there was a 90% chance you'd get a nod off a fellow biker.

Whilst cycling down a rather large shared promenade earlier it struck me that this pleasantry isn't really used by cyclists, at least not where I am. You might get the odd smile or a shout saying someone's overtaking etc but there doesn't seem to be a universal gesture for cyclists.

So the point of the thread is...

Are there any types of cycling gestures used by cyclists where you live/ride/commute etc?

I'm a northener, we are all friendly up this neck of the woods, I nod, wave, say good morning and offer to buy the first round of drinks................you won't find that down south:laugh:

Yeah that's true. I had a bit of a chat with a few people on the path earlier but not one of them offered me a drink.

When I see another cyclist I like to stop with them we and do a Honey G rap meddly. From the H to the O to the N to the E to the Y to the G I'm Honey G. When I say Honey you say G. Honey..,

Around about 84.46% stop and join in. It takes around 15 minutes to complete. In that time I usually get 4 more passing cyclists to stop and they act out being the judges.
