Just worked out that in last 3 years 6 out of the 7 blokes I normally cycle with have suffered snapped rear gear cables and 3 losing the rear derailleur in the back wheel with all the damage and cost that entails. Di2 or wireless sram-cost aside- is looking very enticing.
Andy TR tells me my ftp is 30 or so watts lower now than 2 y ago so trying to work on stamina. Would be nice to get those watts back but will have to wait a while before I try.

I mean if you look at it that way you're saving money while possibly preventing a life changing accident! Now all you've got to do is convince the wife / hide the bank statements

I am afraid I have to concede defeat and accept I will not be able to attend the DD. I would love to join and ride with you all but too many things are conspiring against doing so but particularly my knee. The other things I could just about sort but very time I push a bit on a rlr I have problems with my knee and walking let alone cycling. With Ventoux 5 weeks away I don't want to take the risk, however tempting it is to show Breedon a clean pair of cleats in the Welsh mountains. That will have to wait another day
I am sure you are all going to have a fabulous time in glorious weather.
Perhaps we can arrange another ride in September?

Well, it would have made a change from the missus' snoring which wakes me most nights
I have an open mind. London to Paris say or a ride around isle of white, something that might entice others. I would love it to be mountainous but that is probably a stretch.

It's a shame bob, but ventoux is more important a ride that must not be missed so from now until then take it easy.
