I SAW Lord Lucan at King's Cross very early one morning shortly after he disappeared. He was walking along the pavement arm in arm wih a brassy blonde, he was wearing a brown coat and looked just like he did in all the photos. It was so early that he was as surprised to see me as I was him. He looked straight at me with a "Yeah? So?" sort of smile and walked straight past.

The genius about reggie perrin was that I was reading the book and finding it funny at about 12 or 13. Many of the jokes went right over my head at that age, but there was enough to understand and find funny....
