I can never remember the name of the character - Rigsby was it? - who was always mixing his metaphors. There is a website dedicated to him and his sayings, and i can't look at it for too long cos I laugh so much it hurts!

I always got sent to bed before it came on TV. I used to linger by the door and see snippets of it and think 'what is THIS?' before dad's slipper got hurled at me.

How many people have thought about the pile of clothes left on the beach as a way to escape the rat race?

Loved the show, and the hippo!

Absolute Genius, both writing and Leonard Rossiter's performance.

Every time I have to do a product tasting at work,I want to blurt out "Bolivian Unicyclist Jockstrap".

I thank God my parents were wise enough to make sure I got to see this show given that I am too young to have seen its original transmission....

They showed the first series of the fall and rise of Reginald Perrin on Sky Gold last week. One of the best sitcoms to come out of the 70's in my opinion.
