Eh? I've seen many a keeper bounce the ball so completely unaware of this rule.
I don't think it applies to bouncing. The situation I believe it covers is a keeper collects the ball, drops it in preparation to kick and then finds an opposition player challenging him. Under this circumstance the keeper must continue to use his feet, to pick up the ball would be a foul but not serious enough to warrant a penalty. Therefore it would be an indirect free kick.

There also used to be free kicks for the keeper taking too many steps with the ball

I have to be honest I wasn’t expecting that, Chelsea 1 Villa 2, still winning, another scalp, just maybe…..

Squad depth is going to be key, can they attract a few key players in to keep the momentum.

Gunners next and they are still smarting from the match at VP a few weeks ago.

Most of my mates are Villa fans. Interestingly they were all decidedly unimpressed when Emery was appointed (probably because they were basing it purely on his Arsenal tenure and knew little of his full CV). I told them at the time they had pulled off a massive coup getting him. Strangely enough none of them seem to be able to recall their original apathy these days 😂

Not scorelines you see any more, I reckon more than a few players celebrated Christmas not wisely, but too well.
I was at that bloody West Ham match
I was at yesterdays bloody match Joe so nothings changed.:cursing:
Probably will be playing Blackburn next season.
Will have to change it from the London Stadium to the Dust Bowl!

I first stood on the terraces at Upton Park in 1962 for a reserve match. In all that time, apart from a very brief period in the eighties they have never looked like a threat to the established order. Every club has it's unique culture that rarely deviates, West Ham's is one of promise followed by disaster.

There is no continuity at the club, even with the kit. Arsenal, Liverpool, Man U, Spurs, Villa etc etc all play in kits that a fan from sixty years ago would instantly recognise. Our sixties /seventies shirt was the iconic Hammers outfit, known worldwide For the last however many decades we seem to have a different form of hideous design foisted on us every year. Claret shorts? Feck off!!

Always loyal joe don't forget that.Even if we go down we'll still get great support. The teams you mentioned there with the exception of villa if they were relegated the plastics would be leaving in their droves.
BTW 1963 was my first game against Sheffield Wednesday and i've seen a lot more downs than ups

Dear Thomas Frank
Can you please keep your mouth closed when chewing gum on the touchline as I have no desire to see your open mouth chewing in 4K HD. The frequent sight of congealed chewing gum stuck between your teeth is hideous.

Must have been a rule change since the 1970s re fouls in the penalty box. Watching a c 1978 Big Match on YouTube there was an free kick awarded in the penalty box. The other obvious thing was the lack of grass on much of a pitch.

here are a variety of offences which can result in an indirect free kick. And any of those will still be an indirect free kick if they happen inside the penalty area.

Sep Blatter said Upton Park was one of the most atmospheric grounds in the world. Night matches in particular would have the hairs on the back of your neck standing up. And as you say, very loyal support. I've not been to the new stadium so I've got no first hand experience, is it as bad as some fans say?
