Chelsea have signed their new manager Rosenior on a 6 year contract

I find it utterly bewildering that he's on a 6-year contract.

Good luck to him, of course - but he's never managed a PL club before (unless I missed something).

Why? why? why?

Chelsea have signed their new manager Rosenior on a 6 year contract! Someone is having a laugh.
He’s their 8th manger in 5 years!
And 1967 was the last time they signed a manager who lasted longer than 6 years.

They all get these pointlessly long contracts when they all know it is meaningless. I assume it is for the assurance of a larger payout when they get sacked, as the payoff usually takes into account the length of contract still remaining.

I guess these days it is the trade off for having no real job security as Managers have to accept they can be sacked at any point with no recourse (as you won't get another job in football if you did challenge it). I think it is just a tacit agreement that clubs and Managers have these days, as the daft contract and even dafter settlements (certainly at elite clubs) is just standard practice now.

Varies hugely at City. £15 for adults for Exeter; £60 minimum for a big PL game, even if you can get tickets at all, which will go within minutes of getting on sale.

My friend's been a Leeds fan since me and him went to Elland Road to watch Leeds v Man City in 1979. He's been a season ticket holder for decades, but hardly if ever goes to away games as like with Man City, the tickets go within minutes of going on sale. He came with me to watch Accrington play at home to Leeds in the 3rd round of the FA Cup three years ago, due to me getting him a ticket for the home end.

Is it even possible to get a ticket without entering a ballot? It's not at SJP, and while I sort of get the reasoning it does seem a bit unfair, likewise the tiered pricing structure.

Same at the Emirates. I've given up trying and just watch the women live (home and away when possible) and the men on TV! One not great seat for a 'top tier' game for the men is north of £100....my women's season ticket cost less for 11 games and away tickets are under £20 (I'm going to try to get to Anfield in May, even with a day return train, it'll be less!)
