there appear to be no penalties or sanctions against clubs for doing so though, which I dont think is the case in the Premier League anymore. and its hard not to feel some clubs might see it as advantageous sometimes to not put as much work or expense into ensure games can be played.
I always thought he made a huge mistake leaving Brentford for the poison chalice.
I agree with @ianrauk . Frank was the proverbial 'big fish in a little pond'. IMO Gerrard did the same when he left Rangers.
Cobblers manage their second 3-1 victory of the week over Wimbledon to secure a place in the Football League Trophy semi final . . .
I see Forest have sacked Sean Dyche. That's three managers been and gone for them this season. Crazy.
Hopefully someone at Rovers has the balls to ring Dyche and ask him to come here for the rest of the season. We need someone who can sort this bunch out PDQ. It wouldn't be popular but might keep us up.
Everyone says it when a decent manager gets sacked but this one is utterly bonkers. They have only lost 1 in the last six, and out of 25 games Dyche has won 10 and drawn 6 and would have kept them up IMO. Yes, they drew with Wolves but had 30 shots on goal and 63% possession, that is not bad coaching, that is bad players if they can't convert a single chance out of 30! The irony is they are probably now going to get caught by a team managed by the guy the sacked before the one they just sacked! Oh, and it looks like they are going to appoint the guy previously sacked by the club who are and were bottom of the league when he got sacked!
I can only assume this it is pure ego and delusion with these owners. The decisions make no sense because they are completely illogical, it is just egomaniacs thinking that their decisions (no matter how crazy) are correct. I guess when they then sack another Manager, they just delude themselves even further that it was the Manager's fault and nothing to do with their own incompetence.

Er… not to be chewing on sour grapes, cos I’m obviously delighted we’re focusing on the league 😉, but I think you might have miscounted the goals scored.
Good luck in the semis!
Notts and probably some others have only ever got promoted through play offs when they have finished in the top play off place. The EFL will be voting on a proposal to extend the Championship Play Off qualifying positions to include 3rd down to 8th.
I feel this is madness. Aside from being even more unfair on the club finishing third it raises the prospect of a potentially ill-equipped squad being promoted to the PL.

Question for Forest owner
WHo would the manager you''d turn to if you were in a bit of a relegation scrap, to keep a calm head and get enough points to get you to safety.
Someone also who in his last job would ave had the club mid table were it not for a poor start under the previous manager....
Oh its Sean Dyche!
I do hope Forest get relegated, breach fair play rules, get a points deduction and then relegated to league 1.
This is why I am utterly baffled by it. Usually with a lot of Manager sackings you might think it is too early (and often it probably is!) but there will be some justification i.e. too many bad results or poor performances, lost the fans/players etc. With Dyche, not only is he exactly the type of Manager they needed, but he was also delivering results and they were playing some decent football (and from what I can tell the fans were all happy with him). There isn't a single logical or justifiable reason to have sacked him, it is crazy.
