Darwin were promoted at the expense of Notts County despite the latter finishing third from bottom of Division 1. The club that came bottom, Newton Heath (aka Man U) stayed up

Ronaldo The Ego has indeed thrown his toys right out of the pram, and Portugal look a lot better for it. I do wonder whether Jorge Jesus intentionally provoked it though. Plenty have speculated that Portugal could be a far more dangerous team if they weren't carrying a passenger that refuses to run or press (how can you not press in the modern game?) and Ronaldo showed no signs that he was starting to think of what was good for Portugal instead of what suited his stat-padded career. He didn't seem to have a fade-out or retirement plan, no desire to be used sparingly off the bench to make the best use of his ageing legs, he just wanted to continue to start eery game and be fed the ball in the box. Jesus would have been in real trouble if he'd just not selected him, but Ronaldo was ridiculously easy to manipulate into a stropping into retirement.

Looking forward to this incontrovertible proof that they've got that they didn't bother to show the independent investigation.

I'm expecting it to be along the lines of "a big boy did it and ran away" or some variant of a family pet eating their homework

He's in the huff because he wants to score 1000 career goals and wants everyone to help him do that.
As for benefitting the team? Hmmmmm, not so much.

I think it's the international goals record - he's got 146 (the record) but I guess he wants the round 150

Doubt his ego will stand for lower leagues. Saudi is pushing it as it is imo.
