Look, Aperitif, I'm old and have a fading memory and am useless at remembering names, OK? No need to chuck it back in my face. I was suffering from hypoxia due to extreme altitude at the summit of Ditchling. The fizz had nothing to do with this mental confusion. It must have been plain to all that, even when brought back to sea level, three pints of lager still left me a very sick man and that I was lucky to survive.

Any chance of anybody giving me a contact e-mail for this guy?

Best wishes......

iLB and I had a breakfast at madeira cafe with this chap, unfortunately his name evaporated from my memory.. he said he lives in bermondsey, hasn't registered on cc yet (then i urged him to do that and become an active member) and it is his first ride to brighton and he was going to take a train back to london. not sure if that helps in any way..

Thanks zigzag. We don't seem to be having much luck, do we? Anyway, if anybody spots him on another ride, please let him know that I have the piccie.

Wishing you all a great time on the way to Whitstable.

Hi folks, this is going to be my first fnrttc too, been working up to decent distances all Summer so finally took the plunge along with a mate who's done a couple of sportives. I'll be the fat one on a Felt.

Cheers folks! I will bring either home-made brownies or home-baked wholewheat bread along. Can't decide which, though . Does anyone have any preference for one or the other? I would try hot-x buns but the ones I have made so far haven't risen very well, they look like edible floor tiles...

I will be riding I think a blue Dave Yates and have an anxious expression. Well, it will be Night-time in the Naked City. That reminds me, must avoid Soho on the way from Euston...

I go away from CycleChat for a few days, and the latest FNRttC thread has reached gargantuan proportions already! If there's still room, please put me down on the list Simon.

I've had several weekends of either overnight cycling, cycle camping, or both, and my body is starting to complain, but there's almost four weeks until this one, so I should be able to recover by then!

I've discussed things with Kieran at Andy's Cafe. We'll be putting in a bacon sarnie order, which he will fill just before we arrive, and wrap the order in tinfoil - so you can pick up a sandwich, pay at the till and not wait around for a sandwich to be made.

This allows me to increase the maximum number of riders. There'll still be a queue for the toilets, but, provided half or more of you choose a bacon sarnie we'll get served a lot quicker.
