I noticed one of your previous rides was to Bognor - I don't suppose I could be cheeky and ask for a copy of the route (or the email address of someone I could ask perhaps)? My grandparents live there and I've been trying to plan a ride to see them with very little local knowledge!

The 'headlines' of the Bognor route are on the blog site, here: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_G4j9YmEAZsw/S_Okz7xdSdI/AAAAAAAAAG0/8dXdizwx7PM/s1600/Slide7.PNG

BTW hello everyone! My first post and my first FNRttC coming up on Friday - very excited and looking forward to meeting you all!

That's brilliant, thank you! Now I have no excuses! How was the off road bit? Was the track smooth enough for a road bike?

It was only very short, so I walked most of that bit. Lifting the bikes over the stiles was a bit of a laugh though.....

No. A lot of it wasn't even really track, more fields. No problem wheeling it along and quite pleasant.

I'm guessing that you've got the easy-peasy route. The ruffty-tuffty route is far the better one. Although it is a bit ruffty-tuffty. As the name suggests. Send me an e-mail on fnrttc@yahoo.co.uk .

You can always take Houghton Hill up to Whiteways which is all road. Worth a diversion into Arundel on the way down the other side.

Hi

Is it still possible to join the ride or if I'm too late can you let me know if anybody drops out ?

Regards

Andrew from Bromley

I may be proved completely wrong, but I think this one will fill. I'm going to have a chat with Kieron and see if we can move to the buffet system (albeit with a more traditional content) that proved such a success at Planet Sweet, and, in my estimation, will allow us to up the numbers a little.

So, for those of you who haven't done the Whitstable ride, here's the skinny....it's about 72 miles, and quite a bit tougher than Brighton. There's some decent ups and downs going in to Gravesend, and the route really doesn't settle in the second half between Rochester and Faversham. The consolation is that the ride has a bit of drama, some splendid views and goes through some pretty villages and towns. The last eight miles across the Graveney Marshes can, if the mist lies on the flat ground, be breathtaking

I am doing the smrbth, after a rough poll of other people on Sunday, it could be a bit thin on the ground.

Never heard of the Crab and Winkle way but will consider it. Hoping to be home about 2pm-ish

Crabs? Winkle?

Have you got both, Davy? Actually, I think Flying Dodo is the FNR crab expert...I could be wrong, but a pincer movement might be necessary, in order to make ends meat.

I'll be heading toward London - probably by a non-antiseptic route dicing with various deaths and I will not give a monkeys. The Whitstable Bar goes mobile! It will be a long weekend...
