It's a roll, unless it's crusty, in which case it's a crusty cob, unless of course you buy more than one and they are still stuck together in which case it's a batch.

That is just a picture of a bread roll... whoever made that poster hasn't the foggiest about what makes regional bread special, you can't label something if you haven't got the right picture to go with it... and as for the Stotty being from Yorkshire! 1/16 for the bread roll.

I'm from the bun region of South Yorkshire but now live in the cob area and work in the batch department. I used to live with North East stotties.

It could be that Middlesbrough also have stotties but deffo Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham.

Barms, you should've heard the response I got from the Fred Elliott look and soundalike in a Bradford chippy when I once asked for a chip barm.

His blood pressure might just be settling down now. :smile:
