My three are all in their twenties now but I could probably still recite most of Roald Dahl's books from memory the number of times I read them to them. Erik the Viking (Terry Jones) was another favourite and all the Shirley Hughes stuff when they were younger. They're all in a box in the loft for when any grandchildren arrive.

There is original African artwork, and then there are the stylised versions for the kids books/series. I think that's an original one.

I just like the Cartoons because they are so colourful, so extravagant, so...... African!
They can also have quite a bit of detail in them at times too.

Probably is, Tingatinga originally always had a black border, but not always nowadays.

Anyway, sorry, the artwork just caught my eye the first time I ever saw it. A lot of the original illustrations are better, I admit!

Anyway, when I worked in a special needs school, I always liked 'The Tiger who came to tea', as the copy we had had furry bits on the illustrations of the Tiger, a lovely addition to have!
