My three are all in their twenties now but I could probably still recite most of Roald Dahl's books from memory the number of times I read them to them. Erik the Viking (Terry Jones) was another favourite and all the Shirley Hughes stuff when they were younger. They're all in a box in the loft for when any grandchildren arrive.

There is original African artwork, and then there are the stylised versions for the kids books/series. I think that's an original one.
I just like the Cartoons because they are so colourful, so extravagant, so...... African!
They can also have quite a bit of detail in them at times too.
