That's maize growing in the field in the foreground ... we've had a NE wind (le vent de séchage - the drying wind) for the best part of the last 3 weeks, temperatures are now in the high 20s (around 27/28 every day) and there's absolutely no rain in the forecast. I doubt if that maize will grow much.
