Looking over towards Woodland with Tow Law in the far distance on the track that leaves the B6282 and eventually comes out in the Gaunless valley bottom near Copley. Over 1,200 feet up at this point with the ghoulishly named Dead Horse Gulley Springs not far to the right of this picture.

The wife suggested a picnic tea on Tuesday so we ended up wandering over Cockfield Fell with a rucksack of buffet nibbles. I forgot to take the camera then so revisited on last nights tiny ride. We sat on this little ridge with an absolutely cracking view over to the west, although full sun then made it a bit squinty. In the far distance to the left, just past the end of the gorse bushes is Penny Hill with Copley in the middle distance just above the stem and Woodland village somewhere atop the far ridge. Just below the cottages (above the left bar end) is the former Cockfield Fell station.
