so the second trailer dropped today for the latest Star Wars movie from The Mouse House and I for one cannot wait. I was 7 when I went to see Star Wars in the cinema and I went to see it 6 times. I’ve grown up around these movies, had the toys as a kid, collected the comics and if I’m being honest they sent me on a path down geek road I’ve rarely strayed from.
Before anyone starts, yes I know Lucas cannot write dialogue, yes I know they’re vehicles to sell toys and yes I don’t care...
Christmas can’t come soon enough for this big kid.

I can take it or leave it. Still, 7 was miles ahead of the awful 3 prequel films, so with luck this one should be halfway decent too.

Even though I'd resolved not to watch any of them until the entire set was available as a DVD box set (yes, I know, it's pre-streaming technology, so call me an anachronism if you wish), I ended up watching the previous one (and also the spinoff prequel) somewhere on a plane, around June / July this year. I was between Australia and Europe, can't recall exactly where, except I was jetlagged out of my brain, and desperate to kill some time, alternating between :tired: and .
Not my cup of tea but I'm amazed at how vituperative people can get about flicks they don't like.
I know exactly what you mean, I went to see Blade Runner 2049 last night and didn’t really enjoy it. I mentioned this on my Facebook and a couple of friends of mine ( proper ones, not Facebook ones if you catch my drift?) jumped all over my comments, they were outraged that I found it a bit crap and I was obviously wrong in my opinion!
Sheesh, I wanted to love it as I think the original is a true masterpiece.

Not at all, Rogue One ( which I absolutely loved,) was a prequel to the original Star Wars movie so doesn’t impact on the Last Jedi arc, and to be fair The Last Jedi is Space ships, good v evil and the return of the Jedi Skywalker, you’ll catch on quickly enough. :-)

I turned to my son during the Force Awakens and saw his huge grin - that was enough to justify thirty five years lovin it.

Loved the original trilogy, struggled with crapness of the prequel trilogy, thought The Force Awakens was a barely disguised reworking of the original and loved Rogue One.

Not sure about The Last Jedi... although I'll almost certainly end up going to see it.
