I quite like the Lego radio but more than that I fancy getting a real retro radio and putting a Pi and a decent speaker in it.

What's it's purpose.

There is no point. It's a ball contraption. Beleive it or not, there are ball contraption conventions all over the world. You have to adhere to 4 rules so that you can link yours with the next. If it complies, its classed as a GBC - great ball contraption. The 4 rules are: as near to 60 balls per minute, no more than 10 studs high 'inbox' and exit height above 10 studs, using standard Lego balls.

Fitting a Bluetooth speaker has resulted in a major rebuild of the radio. Got a JBL Go4 which once the plastic case was removed, a tak of unclipping the two halves, fits in terms if depth.
Wanting to be able to access the power button and having the speaker facing the grill meant the need to flip the Lego mechanism and form an opening in the side away from the sound brick.
Main problem come across was the travel stops for the tuning dial needed relocating and in order to get the tuning rod stopping at the right location I used a couple of the 1x1 circular plates with a narrow shaft atop. Current progress

The first floor of 221B opens to show Sherlock's study

Thats the awkward location for a light my brick light requiring a potentially awkward disassembly so I fitted that at stage 3 of the build.
The curved bookshop window rotates, not sure why given the bookshop is quite clear through the window.
The street folds

The sreeet characters are Holmes, Watson, Irene Adler and a newspaper seller. Bit odd being no Mrs Hudson.

Light my bricks set installed. Did still need a few bits removing to fit some and ended up having to rebuild the right hand ground floor window to 221B as their was definitely no gap in the bricks to thread a wire through unlike in their video. Slight error in the video referring to a 30cm cable when 50cm are supplied and a major issue when i went to unpause the video and found the Rouku remote had vanished (and still not found)

Finally got the radio back together. Took far longer than I had anticipated and far more packages of pieces than should have been neccessary. Finally decided as well as a hole in the side of the casing, one underneath. So the power on the JBL Go 4 is accessed underneath and the volume controls at the side. Also added a usb extension lead to a further gap on the underside so there should be no need to remove the JBL.
