The longest you've ever ridden underground

For me it was a 2200 metre road tunnel beside Lake Como today, between Bellagio and Lecco, which was then closely followed by a 1600 metre one, a tiddler by comparison (photo below).
It wasn't actually too bad - well lit, wide lanes and smooth surface, and little car traffic this Saturday lunchtime.

One of my friends has cycled the whole of the channel tunnel service tunnel. He is a railway engineer and worked on the project. I think he said a French colleague did this too.

I think the longest I've done is the Rotherhithe tunnel on a night ride. The exhaust fumes were pretty horrible but it was fun.

The Bath Two Tunnels Greenway is superb. Over one mile long, the Combe Down tunnel is the longest cycling tunnel in Britain. You don't need lights but I'd recommend them.

Longest for me is the Limehouse Link Tunnel on the Ride London route at 1.8 km long.

There was a really long one in Northern Aragon on the N-260 near Fiscal - the Tunel de Pedralba - 2598 metres, all downhill. That was great fun!

It's either that one or the old rail tunnel on the awesome Riviera Cycle route on the coast that passes San Remo in Italy. That was quite special because of how large it was (that and it afforded pleasant shelter from the 35'C heat)

Before this year it would have been the Clyde Tunnel; they simply don't do good infrastructure in the UK

I've seen them, go through the 11 kilometers Mont Blanc Tunnel(6 mins 10 secs)so many times i feel like i've been through it myself!!

You could ride the 27km LHC tunnel at CERN if you were a particle physicist. Too high a price to pay IMO.
