The Victory Yes...the Mary Rose is a bit like the bronze age thing in peterborough, fascinating to people who dig with a pin and a toothbrush

I was trained in the Car Park for the Museum!

It used to be the Royal Naval Medical Staff School, and the bit of car park by the road used to be the Royal Naval School of Radiography!

... and in those days there was no road bridge!

Blue Peter would have made sails and curtains and stuff and put some lights on.
Here's one I sank earlier...?

When the exploration of the ship took place there were a couple of skeletons discovered

One was given a service burial in Southsea Cathedral

However (allegedly) as the coffin was small, a couple of the burial party were told off for a rendition of "What shall we do with the shrunken sailor"?
"May they rest in peace"? How many personalities did this shrunken sailor have?

I remember that bridge! I was serving at Haslar in the late 1960's

It's a bit more complicated than that...

It's difficult to sex skeletons if they're young enough - but it's known that there were a lot of women on board. Alternatively "they" could refer to all the members of the ship's company.

I know: I just get a bit frustrated at English lacking a gender-neutral third-person singular pronoun. The rather formal "one" isn't in common use.
