When I used to go to France in the 80s it was a much more foreign experience than it is these days. .

Anyway, one of my abiding memories was me and my mate in a bar tabac early in the morning - thick with French tobacco smoke - frequented by men in their working "bleus" overalls starting the day with a brandy and a coffee.

Ah, French tobacco. I'm coming over all Marcel Proust.

I found then bought these in a charity shop two days ago. They seem very well made and almost new. I always look at the stitching on the buttons and the lining of the pockets to get an idea about how well made or not they are. Both stitchings are very good and they also have a YKK zip which indicates they were/are well made.

It was a daft idea, but I had to have the thought so I could then expunge it from my mind!! 🧐 I'm now pondering buying ANOTHER Cordings suit, which If I do will be the 6th one I've bought this year. I don't have a green suit, so this won't be similar to any of my three tweed Cordings suits I already have.

If I do buy it, it'll be a two piece one as they don't have the waistcoat in my 40 chest size, so I'd probably wear my Cordings velvet, bottle green waistcoat, or my gold Cordings waistcoat with it.🤔
