I saw him in the mid 1980's at King George's Hall in Blackburn, when surprisingly he was the 'warm up act' to then late night local radio phone in presenter Alan Beswick. He was much better than Alan Beswick who couldn't really replicate his 'controversial' phone in act while on a stage answering questions and telling slightly raunchy jokes. After JCC, Beswick was a poor second.🤷
