These are quite 'in fashion' now. When I say 'in fashion' I mean I've seen another two chaps wearing spectator shoes since I bought mine the other day. They aren't Loake upwards quality, but the plusess are they are lighter, so better for spring/summer and after 3 days of wearing them I haven't had any breaking in agony I have to endure every time I buy a pair of Loake shoes/boots. They were also the only pair of spectator shoes I could find with a rubber sole. All the rest had a dangerous for me leather (slippery) sole. I ordered them at 2 am on Wednesday morning and they arrived at 11.30 am on Thursday morning. How about that eh! Thirty three and a half hours from ordering to receiving them, and I got a free shoe horn as well!

Are they are bit too young for me and not really me though? 🤔 If I bought either of them I'd save them for the warmer months. I like both, but I'd probably go for the navy blues ones, as nearly all my shoes and boots are in various shades of tan or brown. They have them in black, but that'd be too formal for my tastes. Maybe the dark green ones would be nice?🤔

I'm the only one in Accrington that wears anything different to trainers. crocs, sliders, slippers, etc ffs!

No, I tell a lie! A few months ago I saw Miles Parkinson the think he's the ex council leader now, wearing black patent leather oxfords, with what sounded like tippy tappy segs on the soles and heels.

I've never really been a leather shoes with tweed or fabric parts fan, but I think that half price offer might sway me. Most of my shoes are quite conservative/traditional. Maybe I should er let my hair down a bit, as they say. 🤔There's me asking if they're too young for me, while meanwhile in places like Accrington and even 'posher' places I see men in their 70's and 80's wearing those chavvy black Nike trainers, with all the rest of such chavvy clothing! A bloke came in the retro clothing shop I work in yesterday. He told me he was a retired maths teacher, yet there he was wearing all black chavvy stuff, like black puffer body warmer, black tight at the bottom of the legs 'trackies', black baseball cap (tilted upwards to make it even more chavvy) and er one of those little Nike man bags.

I can't say I'm terribly keen on any of the shoes on that website, they all look a bit cheap and try hard. Some of them might be a bit of fun for some flashy dressup but they're not... good.

I'm gonna say that I'm also not too sure that spectator shoes really work as Derbys. Compare these two and how the eyelets work with the vamp. The bottom ones have this bit of extra leather that's not really doing much and distracts the eye. It doesn't fit with the style of the shoe, to my mind anyway.

(Yes I have now bought some more shoe trees you'll be pleased to know)

I used to wear mine out to the burlesque clubs but I don't get out much these days so they're sat in the bottom of my wardrobe. I might as well start wearing them just as a regular pair of shoes, seems a shame not to wear them at all.

I thought I'd seen those Justin Reece shoes somewhere before. I remember now, they sell them at this place in Clitheroe.

They are what you'd expect for around £100. As I said, they're not Loake 1880 and upwards quality, but they have their advantages over such far more expensive shoes.
