This prompts me to repeat a favourite bit of mine from Samuel Beckett's Endgame.

Nagg tells a long rambling joke about an Englishman and a tailor. The tailor keeps delaying completion of a pair of trousers, saying that he hasn't quite got them right. Eventually the Englishman loses patience...

"God damn you to hell, Sir, no, it's indecent, there are limits! In six days, do you hear me, six days, God made the world. Yes Sir, no less Sir, the WORLD! And you are not bloody well capable of making me a pair of trousers in three months!"

(Tailor's voice, scandalized.)
"But my dear Sir, my dear Sir, look--

There's the story of the old gentleman who had died and whilst going through his stuff his son came upon a cobbler's ticket dating back to the 60. "I wonder ..." he said to himself, and being a bit mischievous he went along to the cobbler's shop,
which was still going, and presented them with the ticket. The cobbler looked at it, then went in the back, returning empty handed.

Nice pick-up today ;pair of Spoke black jeans (unworn and on the smart side) for £14.00,usually retail for £99.00.
Not quite as good as the Japanese Iron Heart jeans I got last year but still too good to leave behind.

That 'topper' must be a hundred years old, hence the 'tattyness' of it. I'm surprised it fit me, seeing as all the old hats I've tried on in there over the years were only about 53/54 cms, compared to my 60 cms size.🧐

These are tempting! Down in price from £395 to £280. They have a Danite rubber sole. I used to swear by rubber soles, but after having got used to leather soles with my last two shoe purchases I do like leather soles, but as we know, rubber ones are more practical and safer, especially when walking in the rain. I've yet to walk in the rain while wearing either of my leather soled pairs of shoes, so maybe I'll change my mind about leather soles if I have a wet surface slipping experience 🤔

If I do buy the above, I'm determined to get rid of quite a few pairs of lesser quality shoes, as in give them to a charity shop. My shoe collection is becoming more quantity than quality. I'm not saying I don't have quality shoes and boots, but I'm hoarding shoes I hardly wear, bought on a whim and not really me.🧐

Every now and then on rooting through jacket pockets in the retro clothing shop I work in, I'll find theatre, train and prestigious horse racing event tickets. Some are quite old, with one I found being from the 1980's. When I find such tickets the jacket they were found in will always be a high quality item. I once found a ticket for the royal enclosure for the Ascot racing event in a much older than the ticket grey morning suit jacket. The ticket was from if I remember rightly 1997, but the jacket looked like it was from the 1940s.🤔 The jacket was high quality having been made by some now most likely long gone Savile Row tailor, but far too small for me, otherwise I would've bought it!🧐😉

I saw that film while on a family holiday in Blackpool in July 1973, when Blackpool was a nice family friendly resort!🧐😉

There I was, walking along today when I turned a corner and spotted this oh so cool looking car! I stopped to take some photos of it, then the driver wound his window down and asked if I wanted a photo of me standing next to it. I had my high waist 'cricket' moleskin trousers on, as you can see.😉
