It arrived today. I went downstairs to see it propped up behind my door, wondering how whoever delivered it managed to get it through my letterbox and standing up as well!🤔

It took some scissor cutting to get into it, being careful to not scissor scratch the cane as I cut through the thick duct tape and bubble wrap, but I made it after must've been 15 long minutes.

I'm quite impressed with it! It has a smell of new paint or varnish indicating that the seller does as he says make them when you order/buy them and not before. My concern now is when it falls over as all my canes/walking sticks do, resulting in chips and dents!🙄

I remember Bryan’s up near the bus depot opposite St Chads church near the Wood Pecker ? Pub.
Woodrups had a shop on North lane when I was a kid.
I was brought up in Grandby Terrace which was behind Bennet road School.

'Stif' started in one of the Granbys (I think 'Street'), when MTBs were a sideline to Orange windsurfers
A friend & I used to ride up, on a Saturday, & have a sandwich with Paul (Morphet?), who owned the shop

I thought they had a shop opposite the Arndale center near shaw lane. It was a stone building unusual for Headingley. When I was a kid there was a bike repair shop in this building.

I see. By then I was an infrequent visitor to Leeds having moved to East Yorkshire and my parents had moved to near my sister in Cheshire.
