As a couple, we’ve had 16 Golfs since 1982! Although I was a big fan of the Mk 2 16V and Mk3 VR6, The MkV GTi was my favourite, it just felt special. Mk7 is a brilliant car, just a bit boring.

My T2 air cooled VW had a lovely exhaust note which was the best bit about it. I did about 100,000 miles in it and thought about painting “home sweet home “ on the drivers door. Most expensive vehicle I ever had as nearly everything failed to work at some time in my ownership.
