Three RAF Grob trainers over the house yesterday, slightly unusual to see them in formation.
Apologies, photo taken with zoom, then cropped

For a moment then I thought the Yemeni airforce had upgraded!

Ooh gutted. Sat watching tv at around 21.30..a large, possibly military slow jet flew past nearby. Heavy, you can tell, speed, engine note was different to what I've normally heard...
Quick ADSB search, it was an Antonov AN.124, one of those behemoth cargo aircraft.
Ukrainian registered, flew out of Montreal Canada, passed within maybe 3 miles of here, currently headed toward Holland and probably beyond.
Saw one once at an airport abroad, can't for the life of me remember where ?

A couple of different ones from Donington Park - right under the East Midlands Airport flight path

I 'aven't been on a plane in ages.

That is all.

It goes by fast. Last trip for us was 2018, cancelled 2019 for obvious reasons, booked again then cancelled at the second lockdown. (Was yhat 2020 ?)...lost all the desire to holiday abroad now.
Circumstances have changed now which make it even harder to ever try again

I think the last thing I was on was a Seaplane from/ return to Loch Lomond.

The scenery was amazing, but it only lasted something like 40 mins or similar.

Before then, it was probably the Thompson 757 from Naples to Glasgow, which took off in a thunderstorm. That was 2011.

@gbb Lockdown started in 2020, yes. My Mum died on the 14 of February (great date!) and had the big funeral before all of that was stopped, hence why I know.

Had she died a month later, then... 🤷‍♂️

I thought you said you'd been on the shortest scheduled flight a few times!

Feeling emotional. Saw a Spitfire fly past while out in the garden today.

Warbirds as they've become to be known, always seem to stir something in us.
Seems ages since I saw one but funnily enough, somewhere near here must be based a North American T6 trainer, heavy beast, big radial engine I think, saw it the other day. Seen it a few times over the last few years...

There are currently no fewer than 30 assorted T-6/Texan/Harvard/SNJ aircraft on the British register.

Not all are airworthy - most of those that are fly around wearing a variety of military paint schemes and markings, well worth looking out for.
