Currently sat at Kefalonia airport awaiting our flight home. These two were here when we arrived and still here now. They look like crop-dusters but there’s very little in the way of large fields or crops here. Fire fighters?

Yes, used for firefighting.

The design of them seems to have been around forever. While you don't really see crop spraying in the UK anymore, I do remember seeing these (or similar) as a kid , late 60s, early 70s swooping around fields.
Not sure if I've seen them on Kefalonia airport years ago. I wonder if the carry fire suppressant chemicals rather than water ? Or perhaps (more likely ?) Spraying olive groves, that perhaps makes more sense.

They typically carry water, but they are also capable of dropping dry chemicals.

The Dromaders are due for replacement by more modern Air Tractors which, as well as having a turboprop instead of the former's piston engine, will also be fitted with floats, allowing them to rapidly refill by scooping.

Once again, engine note sets the senses tingling...a whistling jet just flew over, old school jets sound quite different to modern. Didn't get to see it but a Vampire, out of Conningsby courtesy of adsb
Reasonably unmistakable, I watched a Vampire (perhaps this one) at Duxford a couple years ago, the whistle is very apparent.
