The price of disc brake pads!

MY mtb gets little use but as I am doing an off road duathlon I thought I had better get it serviced. The chap I use is an ex GB team mechanic, but doesn't like disc brakes. One of the pad facings fell out, so I am replacing two sets.

Bu99er me - About £40 for two sets......

Im in full agreement with your mechanic, disc brakes on bikes worlds gone mad. Allthough Im giving them another try on latest rebuild

Yes, I went for DiscoBrakes in the end, from whom I bought some road pads recently. £16 for two pairs of the better ones.

My mechanic is wonderful - in his 60s and former cyclocross GB team mechanic, so suspension and discs are not his thing. But he charges next to nothing (a couple of hours fiddling with my MTB, inc 2 new cables came to a tenner!)
