I was on the Nene Valley Railway line, waiting to see if the foxes nearby made a show and heard a steam engine approaching...ooh, got a couple photos but sod.my luck, it had the water tender (or coal box perhaps) on the front, completely obscuring the locomotive.
Anyway, its Tornado, apparently built 2008 ? doing a turn on NVR.
Apparently if id waited for the return journey, id have seen it tender less...

Nothing wrong with a nice tender rear.

... It's called the tender and yes, Tornado was completed in 2008. It's the first of a few major replicas built or being built.
