Trouble is, an awful lot of people have no common sense. I’m a driver and some of the stuff I’ve seen is unbelievable (tresspassers walking down the 4 foot with their backs to oncoming trains, others out for a jog right next to the tracks for instance), so I can’t imagine what it would be like if access was even easier.

Aye. All over the world access tomthe trackside is much less protected and people respect it, but the British public at large are simply incapable of behaving.

I concur. As an ex driver I have witnessed many acts of stupidity on or about the PWay. From kids playing chicken to farmers crossing with fully loaded trailers, only a couple of hundred yards in ftont of the train doing 125mph. It's like Darwinian theory in action.
