Never had a phone as a child, did not realise we had youngsters on here,

We had one when I was in my teens,in the 1970's. I know because when we had been out late (usually playing water polo for the school), we would ring home, just let it ring three times, then my parents would know to come and pick us up

Don't have a clue what the number was though.

I can remember mine but I’m not telling you because I use it as a PIN

My swmbo and I were talking about underwear last night as you do.

And I commented that none of my boxers have labels on them so when it's dark and I am getting dressed it's not always obvious if I have them on the right way round 😀

Her reply was you need some old man pants then as they have a label rather than have size info etc etc printed on the inside.

So I guess I am getting old

or maybe some w/ a fly on both sides?

I remember when we got our phone installed in the mid 70s. My mum made me run to the nearest payphone with 2p so she could hear it ring. We'd waited 3 months for it to be installed and it came in a beige brown, not the avocado green she'd ordered.

ETA - a few years later we upgraded to a trimphone. Looked great but we had to sit it on a tin tray so we could hear it.
