Good morning all. Another sunny start to the day here, but due to cloud over later on, top temperature around 19⁰.
Off up to the high road later for some fresh fruit and various berries, strawbs, blueberries and grapes.
Stopping at the veterinary surgery to weigh Millie.
We have some gardening to do after that, nearly £200 spent on plants and sundries yesterday at the garden centre. MrsP likes making up hanging baskets so a lot of plants were bought for those, plus compost, trellis and the like.
The front garden needs a little tidying up and the will be planted up with geraniums and busy lizzies. My Dahlias are growing nicely in the greenhouse will be put out in a couple of weeks time.
Another busy day in paradise. :cuppa:

A quick update on my granddaughters health problem.
It's a bit too technical for me but it's a compacted bowel. The main problem is that it's high up in the bowel, just below the rib cage.
Without getting too graphic the Doctor has hand his his hand up there but the blockage is too far up.
They have prescribed high strength laxatives in the hope they work.

Morning all.
Nice sunny day but blowing a gale and pretty chill wind from the north as well.
Plan is trip to see parents to sort some chores for them, cut hedges etc.
I've binned club social ride due to above reasons. Not many going anyway as there's an event Sunday which I'm considering.

I like kids when they're at the age that they believe that, when you click your fingers and the traffic lights change, that it was you changing them..
That and that the purple tubing alongside motorways is to pump emergency chocolate from the Cadbury's factory to London if they're running out!

I still believe those things! Particularly the chocolate pipeline 😂

the load of washing has just finished.

Life in the fastlane ^_^

As it happens I do 99% of washing in household as I've retired and wife still works albeit from home. So, hanging out washing and doing my Freddie Mercury thing with the hoover is the norm here.

I have now read through umpteen pages of this thread and I am more or less up to speed with your respective lives.

An update for you, the least I can do for you fellow sharers.

Clearly AML is a hefty illness but I am in a great hospital and a fantastic specialised haematology ward. The care levels are superb, my isolation room is really good the food is also really good.

Full chemo' kicks in next week.

Estimated time in hospital is 4 months-ish.

I'm feeling positive.

So, life has changed and we have dumped everything, in effect cleared the decks, to tackle this total 'out of the blue' bombshell.

One morning you wake up enjoying a great life with some mild fatigue and literally within 24 hours you are staring down the barrel of a very big gun. I am very ill but do not really feel ill at all - only noticeable symptom is being down on power for walking and climbing stairs. Although blood transfusions are helping on that front. No wonder my recent average speeds were down by around 40%! I had simply put it down to a long lay-off from cycling.

As ever Mrs SD is being incredibly, stoic, caring and supportive in our combined effort to get through this difficult time. Crikey, how I love this girl!

I'll keep you posted now and then but will not be writing an online diary.

All the best to all of you.

Take care , it’s good that your positive going into it . I am sure we are all wishing you positive thoughts.

Good Morning. Grey and cool.................that's the weather not me. It's been a busy week. Saturday we visited Holker Hall, a great day out, followed by a fabulous wedding in the Lakes. Then it was back to the Lakes on Tuesday for three days walking with friends. Nothing to strenuous but plenty of ascent. Yesterday I was on an 84 mile gravel ride.......legs are still good but my body is very tired but that's gravel riding for you.

Today I have chores this morning, then I plan to watch the mighty (!!!!) Rovers attempt to fluke a place in the play-offs after which I will plant up my allotment. Peas, courgettes, lettuce, cucumber and perhaps leeks and onions are all ready to go in the ground. A few things need sowing as well. Busy day. I'm not sure I'm in the right state to manage all of it.
