No rain here either. I can't plant my onions as they're shallow rooted and will quickly shrivel and die.

The village well is almost dry. This often happens in summer but never in May. Global warming.

More houses/properties, drawing water from the same source will do the same.

This is an actual extract from a sex education textbook for girls, printed in the early 1960's in the UK.....
“When retiring to the bedroom, prepare yourself for bed as promptly as possible. Yep, agree and understand but not in this instance. Our "well," as everyone calls it, is a stone trough into which a small natural spring drains before then overflowing into a water drain. It's only used by 7/8 households to water outdoor garden pots etc. No rain for a month is the cause and I feel this weather is a symptom of global warming.

The sun is shining and it's going to be another nice warm day.
Sainsbury's are delivering the weekly goodies later on, then it will be another day of pottering around the garden, and some domestics and then exercise regime continues, and I might watch a bit of the Giro this afternoon.
Seems like a plan for the day.

Hitching up in a couple of hours and nipping over to Smeatharpe for a couple of days. Be nice just to have a little break and get out in the caravan again; hardly use it these days - must do more.

Morning all.
We had a heavy downpour but it only lasted 30 minutes. Every little helps but the gardens need more.

BIG day in this household.
I've said before that my granddaughter is imo very talented eg good singer**, dancer and very acrobatic.
Well, she has landed a part in "Shrek, the musical". Its a proper big show at the Brindly theatre in Runcorn. Big show with orchestra and the works.
Tonight is the opening night.
Very exciting.
**her Dad (my SiL) is singer/songwriter for a group so she must get it from him, definitely not from me.
