This weather is starting to feel a bit freaky. I’m not sure I can remember such a prolonged hot and dry spell before we have even reached the middle of May. I had a slow wander staying under the shade of trees as much as possible.

Shorts and vest PJs on now and I ain’t moving again.
1995. We'd a hosepipe ban in place before the end of April.
The roads were melting, and in mid-April, whilst in The Lake District, one or two of the group I was with was suffering with the heat.

I refused to take my bodywarmer off though, it weren't that warm.

Barnet,
I used to work with a bobby from Cumbria who never wore more than a shirt all year round, even when it was snowing. He'd been a dry stone wall builder so was used to a minor spot of weather.
One of the drivers at my depot was similar, only wore a polo shirt all year round, even if it got really really cold..
