SpokeyDokey

68, & my GP says I will officially be old at 70!

Finally, after 7 weeks in hospital I have been let out for 2-3 weeks - exact duration will be determined by regular blood results.

Then back in for 28 days chemo'.

First round has gone extremely well according to consultant. Much better than expected due to my age and dodgy kidney there was a risk with such aggressive treatment.

He said I have a strong constitution due to regular exercise, etc.

Sadly lost around 10lb over the 7 weeks which is normal and it has mainly stripped muscle as I am not a fat person.

That will take a while to recover as I have been told that following round 2 chemo' (possibly followed by r3 and r4) then I will be very tired for 1-2 years (!) and will need to build up exercise routines slowly.

Thoughts:

I don't feel like I am 'me'.

I don't want to be defined by my illness and have to keep talking about it to people.

I don't want to engage with people in the real world.

I just want to crack on with my life and live day by day on a que sera sera basis.

Have a good day all.

@Dave7 I hope you are OK when the results are eventually available.

Roger & out.

Morning again. Just over 9 miles done with nothing more than 5 minutes of drizzle at mile 8 so quite enjoyable.

I heard the cuckoo as I was wandering along and it got me wondering why it evolved to do what it does and not raise its own chicks. I don’t think there are any other birds that do this?

Morning all :hello:

Nipping down to the harbour for the street fayre, then hopping on the train up to Wiliton for lunch at the Railway Inn before having a stroll back home.

A question for you. (I have googled this with no real answer).
As a teenager 500cc was seen as a big engine.
Then the Jap stuff came in and 350cc was plenty.
So...... why have 1000/1200 become so popular to manufacture and own ?

Good morning from sunny Dorset. Mrs Tkk dreamed that we went to the Glastonbury festival but it was like a Lyons Tea house with uniformed waitresses 🤔. She thinks it's because she was reading an article about one of the " Glamping " companies going bust. The Wimborne folk festival is the furthest I've travelled 😁
Nothing planned for today, might head out on the Brommie, Mrs Tkk is considering a " G " line and is planning on visiting the " Brilliant Bikes " shop in Sunningdale next month.

Been getting some weird sensations last night and when I woke up

last night dinner created a feeling of an old fashioned room - no the taste or look or anything just "something"

just realised that my nose is not blocked for the first time in many many weeks and I think I am smelling things and my brain is doing werid things with the new sensations

either that or I am going mad
which at time is not all that long a trip!!

this has happened before with smells - I get all blocked up for weeks then get weird sensations when it starts working again

I can remember when a 750 was regarded as a big bike, but today that's barely a middleweight.

I also remember when 550s were everywhere, then in the Eighties EC noise regs had a cut off for one category at 600cc which spawned a who,e new capacity category.

Amd there was me thinking I would be 1st in this morning.
Not checked the weather app but its quite bright.
Now, what plans do I have ?
I need a shave ^_^
Brush my teeth and have yet another try with my false gnashers.......you are restricted foodwise when you can't bite or chew eg today I have gone for a pasta meal as everything else needs chewing. Mind you I quite like pasta so no real complaints.

Have a nice day all.

Complaints, real or not, are good for you, keep at it 😂

Good Morning. I was about to say there's no sign of the 90% heavy rain at 10.00...............it's just clouded over. Mind you the 40mph winds forecast yesterday are now down to 15 gusting to 35. What can I say? Not much planned really. I'll try to get on the allotment later and a walk as well. I've got a splitting headache so I'll take some pills, do my exercises and hope this eases things.

We have friends coming round tonight to eat pizza and play canasta. Always a fun evening.
