I can assure you I don’t! I am at least a stone too heavy and have legs weakened by lumbar disc and sciatic problems so am definitely a plodder.

Since I screwed my achilles last year I too have joined the ranks of plodders. For the first time in my life I'm having to watch my weight as I'm no longer regulating it with the amount and intensity of exercise.

Good morning from sunny Dorset. I have watered the garden and picked a single wild strawberry, pumped up the tyres on two of the Brommies and will be shortly heading out for a gentle meander. Probably head to Poole again as the trailway is sure to be busy with loads of cyclists clogging up the way 😉
Might stop at the quay have a coffee and pastry and watch the world go by, there's a masted galleon moored up at the moment which is drawing a lot of attention 🏴‍☠️

If I try running - or even walking too much - then either my knees, Achilles or feet start to moan

last time I tried walking to work everyday (in the old days when I used to bother working!!) I ended up walking with a stick for a month when my knee decided to complain
and that was only 20 minutes each way at a gentle stroll

which is one reason I started cycling more again

The forecast rain did not arrive. Hurrah. The neighbour's gutter and down spout flow freely. The spout was almost solid with rotting leaves. A full afternoon on the allotment with all growing beds weeded and hoed, tomatoes trimmed and tied, ditto cucumber, grass cut and general tidying. Very productive. I have four baby cucumbers 🥒 The first time I've tried growing these, I need to find out what happens next.

My phone battery lost 40% in two hours. It's been iffy for a while. A full factory reset should fix it. The question is can I be arsed this evening?

My new broom has broken. The plastic thing the handle screws into. I'm truly pissed off with this. A metal one would be far better. Google here I come.

It is possible to buy metal fittings, on EBay, but, the only ones I have seen are clamp type, not screw in

Edit: oops, I see you have found replacement on Amazon (my alternative "go to" for most things)

Shows what a few cans of beans can do!

How do you while away those lazy days?
How do you cope financially?
When did you retire?
Is retirement what you expected?
How long did you take to adjust?

Afternoon all, we are currently on a coach travelling back from the Black Country Museum to Liverpool, back to Lincoln tomorrow for a couple of days, then back to Liverpool on Thursday. My 21 year old grandson has now done five weeks of his officer training in the Navy, he has only done minimum hour jobs since leaving school and did not even give his parents a clue that he was joining up. I am extremely proud of the young man.
