Its been a month since I retired. For the first 2 weeks it was like being on holiday. Laying in a bed until 10am is foreign to me, especially when I am used to getting up at 4.30am. The problem was that nobody tells you how to retire.

So I gave myself and talking to and now get up at 6 - 6.30 and take the Brompton out for an hour before breakfast. Rain or shine.

In the afternoon we go for a 8km walk to places we have not been before. I set myself and couple of tasks a day. Mostly in the garden.

So as an aprentice retiree. I think we are going in the right direction. But it still is quite odd.

It seems to me that you've got the hang of this lark. Do as you wish, when you wish. The important things are to keep mentally and physically active. How you do this is personal choice.

I still get up from 5.00am onwards and would prefer to sleep a little longer but can't. I've usually had 6½ hours by then which isn't bad. Ideally I would add an hour but can't manage to.

A pleasant t walk along the trailway this morning with our walking group. Pleasantly cool under the shade of the trees and through the woods. Gave the pub a miss as the man from the leccy board was coming to upgrade our fuse, just a five minute job in the end as everything was straightforward. A couple of pieces of home made soda bread for lunch followed by a fruit salad and yogurt.

A tad warm here at 28 degrees an hour or so ago. I ventured into the garden to pull a few weeds and beat hasty retreat when after a few had gone in the bucket I started feeling a bit whoozy and realised I might be a bit dehydrated. A can of " Barnys Organic Cider 5% " is now half empty and I'm feeling much better. 😁

Saw this in the Falcon supermarket in Nottingham yesterday, and wondered whether it does what it says on the label.

the classic ones are pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony, and sloth

so if on a bike I would reckon
pride
greed for another bike
wrath and cars drivers
envy of the bike that just passed you
lust - err - not really - back of a car - yes - on a bike - not sure how that would work and not at my age anyway
gluttony - no - too much added weight
sloth - another no if you are cycling I suppose

so - what is the choice??

Is lust a sin?, oh dear 😂
