Good morning. Overnight rain so it feels very fresh. Mrs P and I have decided we won't be repeating last weekend for sometime. Four days is too long to leave a 21 month old. I can never express that view to her parents but it's what I now believe. They're away for five days in a month's time. My recollection is we didn't have a childless break for 15 - 16 years.

Anyway. Done and dusted. A bog standard Granddad day today with #1 and #3 granddaughters.

I'm going to catch up the final ten minutes of Toxic Town while I finish my coffee. Quick tidy round, exercises, might squeeze in the ironing and then off to collect the kids.

Toxic Town, a true story, is on Netflix. Great cast. Highly recommended. It's a difficult and emotional watch.
When our daughter was, maybe, 12 months old we left her with Sue's parents while we had a week in a North Wales caravan.
We lasted 1 single night. We missed her so much that we drove all the way back to collect her.

Barnet,
Good morning everyone.
It's a cloudy but humid start to the day here.
I'll be out with the dog soon because
Sainsbury's are delivering the weekly goodies this morning between 9 and 10of the AM clock.
Today's bike ride will take me past Fold farm, so I will call in for a dozen of their lovely free range eggs. Their chickens produce very large eggs with a very dark yolk.
Our son is calling in after work, so I am going to cook a lasagne for tea.
I will probably cut the grass at some pojnt as well.
Another busy day in paradise :cuppa:

I think I’ll need to start visiting the farm shops too as the supermarket eggs, even those that are labelled as free range, are just so tasteless with really pale yolks.

Busy day today

Original schedule was blood test at 9:30 and pick kids up for a "sleepover" (i.e. they parents both need to be in work early tomorrow) and look after them for the rest of teh day and night

Then it turned out that the people coming to pick up the dining room table (new - slightly smaller - one arriving tomorrow!) are coming first thing in the morning
Cue cleaning the whole damn downstairs of the house for $reasons
and the table
but when they finally gave a time it was 8:30 to 12:30 - which is annoying
I know it is a charity but they will have a schedule and you should be able to check where you are on it!

anyway - went for the 9:30 blood test at 8:00 and asked if they could fit me in early and they were fine about it
so that's done

now waiting for the van to arrive

then we have to explain to the autistic one that the lounge looks a bit different - if we make it exciting ahead of time he will be OK with it

same to the delivery tomorrow - the excitement of people bringing a new one will over-ride the "something is changing" problems

then we have to take them home tomorrow afternoon

How did I ever manage to work and live?????

They are just about to start putting fibre in our street. No doubt more days of noise and disruption but I suppose it’s worth it for something like that.

I had an email from BT saying they are in our area and we should have fill fibre soon. I knew they were around as lots of cabling suddenly appeared on the telephone poles about 2 months ago.
