Barnet,
I hot a 'phone call from "Alan" at Sainsbury's London Colney to say that my delivery would be late because the van had a flat tyre and would now come after 10, if that was OK.
So I decided to take the dog for a walk before it gets too warm.
Half way round my ring doorbell goes on my 'phone, I look and it is a Sainsbury's van outside at 0840.
Fortunately, because of technology I was able to talk to him and get him to wait ten minutes or so until I got back.
I don't much care for modern technology, but it does have its uses sometimes.

First job on list is remove/replace wiper linkage in kids car as it's seized. Looking at youtube videos it looks fiddly but doable.

Geeeez.........I couldn't even get the Suntour QR out of my neighbour's bike last night........despite TWO YouTube videos 😲🤯

2 of the grand kids are here - stayed overnight

AND - for the first time in nearly 13 years I got grand kids to go and wake their Gran up!!!

normal kids go and bounce on the bed
but this lot just refused and if I did manager to get them to go in tey would just whisper

Today they went in and the youngest shouted "GRAN"

it took a while but I have finally sicceeded!!

I’ve just got a trophy for being here 13 years. It feels longer. Must be putting up with you lot!

Congratulations 🏆

It's a Mk 7 Ford Fiesta and an absolute t*** to work on. Seemingly designed to make it as awkward as possible for the diy mechanic. I've got old linkage out but had to remove headlights to do it! Yes really. To access linkage have to remove plastic/shelf cover and to do that need to slide headlights forward. You coudn't make it up....

Sadly the Haynes car manuals are no longer published for newer cars, they were great in their day . I changed timing belts , clutches , brake discs, cylinder head gaskets etc etc with their aid on many cars over the years. If you have older fords etc Alan Howatt has some v good demos on youtube

I might go for a short ride ( about 1.5 hour) in preparation for Sundays sportive , although it is 26 degrees outside.
On the other hand, I might leave it till tomorrow and then rest my legs till Sunday.
Molly has been to the groomer's this morning and looks even more beautiful . Next one is in November.
