Now the washing machine has died. Another unexpected expense. When will it end?

Daft question.......have you tried the obvious ??
Mine 'died' this week and I thought the worst........turned out to be the fuse in the plug.

It never ends, we all lurch from one problem/crisis/expense to another.

I recall, when I was a young employee (25yo or so), being in the Financial Director’s office, when his wife rang to tell him the washing machine had died. He was not happy. I remover being depressed at the thought that if he, in his high earning job, was bothered by such things, what chance did I have?

Home alone this week, did a smidgin of work this morning and then had a very pleasant afternoon up at Gaydon.

Gunk junior is off soon to play 5 a side, chicken pie in the oven, and soon have my feet up in front of the telly.

Mrs D been shortlisted for a new job, director of business for a local academy trust. Much the same as she was doing before, but much closer to home, better lolly, and not run by idiots who pay for her professional advice, ignore it, and then try and blame her when it goes wrong.

Unfortunately for the last lot being an ex copper she was used to evidence gathering and in her diary went everything that was said, to who, when, etc, so when they did try to dump the blame on her those contemporaneous notes and the union legal rep safed her bacon and made the head teachers concerned look like twits, one taking early retirement to avoid repercussions. Nevertheless, she's had enough of rhe culture at the last trust and quit.

Im quite enjoying her being at home and we don't need to money, but she wants to push herself, keep going as long as the MS let's her.

You can't know the prospective managers are not idiots until she gets there, should she take the job.
Experience shows that many people are promoted way above their skill and intelligence levels.

She's worked for the same trust as a teacher so she knows the lie of the land there.
