Bonjour. We had a lovely day yesterday. It started with lunch at the Brazilian restaurant called Rio in Chester and then we spent the might at a airb&b overlooking the seafront in Rhos on Sea which our grand daughter kindly let us have for the night. She owes it. Mrs G has been treated like a Queen all this time.
The airb&b was a complete surprise to her and finished off the day nicely.

Thought I recognised the view - I used to live in Llandudno - and Bangor for that matter
used to go there often!

It's only a test, we're not really going to get nuked. You haven't got four minutes to find a bunker or you're fried. Just leave your phone in another room.

I saw a programme about the nuclear "4 minute alerts" many years ago

One was in a pub - in the back where only the staff go

They asked the landlord about it and he said it was a funny thing to talk about in the pub

he had no clue what he would do - or was supposed to do - if it actually went off
but it had been the subject of many a late night discussion in the pub

anyway - 4 minutes - not time for much other than line all your kids up
wait until 3 minutes 58 seconds
and say "You're my favourite"

yes - I got that off the telly

I got the impression that some people wanted to keep it as a nice quiet place for locals and all the tourists can go to Llandudno

Yes, it does give that impression.

When we had our static on Anglesey and travelled regularly we sometimes made a stop at Rhos.
It's an attractive place but for some reason (tmk) never became a popular holiday destination.

Rhos on Sea is the place to retire for pensioners and at week ends, the beach is full of people from far away. We only live 2 kms from Rhos, so I cycle through it regularly.
