Chap we know had his cat go missing about 5 years ago.

The other evening he heard a stretching at the window and opened the curtains to see his kitty had returned as if nothing had happened.

There's a cat, Luna, who lives in our village. Her original "owners" lived next door but one. She spent her days with us and went home for food and sleep. After some years she moved to a house about ½ mile away, eventually returning to her original home and later moving in with some other neighbours about 500 yards away where she currently resides. So that's four homes and "owners."

There's another cat, Gary, who moved out of his house to another ¾ away. Our immediate neighbours have George, given half a chance he would move in with us!

We found our cat, Olaf, in a hedge, bedraggled, starving and with one leg stuck under his collar. We took him home, he stayed for the rest of his life.

Strange creatures. 🤣

Anyway, cats aside. Good morning. It's poured with rain since 10.00pm. When I went to bed it was quite chilly, got my winter PJs on. I woke at 3.30 too hot and found the temperature has risen a lot. Windows open and listening to wind, rain and gurgling down spouts.

Cycling planned today. Amy is due at 3.00pm. We planned a 30 miler, starting at a friend's house at 9.00am. He lives 10 miles from me so I would have got a gentle 50. It's dry at his place, I'll be drenched after a couple of miles riding to meet up. The route includes coffee at The Bicycle Lounge which just happens to stock Pinarello and Cervelo 🤔

I might drive over.

It's the music event of the year. Chorley Live! Venues throughout the town host local musicians for two nights this weekend. It's £6 for a wristband which gains entry to every venue on both nights. We've booked a table at a tapas bar for 6.45, there will be four different acts performing. We may wander round town to others if it's dryish.

The 23 venues include pubs, cafes, chapels, the bus station, covered market, council offices, library, town hall, a sweet shop, ice cream parlour and a town centre car park.

I'm now going to attempt to sleep......

Good morning folks. A morning in the loft lies ahead with some more insulation to unroll and fit between rafters. Once thats done I can simply unroll the thicker stuff over the top. This evening we're going to see " I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue " at the Lighthouse theatre in Poole.

Barnet,
Good morning all.
It's been raining most of the night, the cats didn't look too happy going out into the garden.
I've got a few errands to run this morning, plus the normal dog walking.
Then there is a meeting of the escape committee this afternoon at the Railway Bell 🚂 🔔

G'day all.
Dry at the moment but rain due soon.
Highlight of my day is to strip and wash the bedding......will have a glass of milk (already had my coffee) then get on with it.
My hearing aid seems to have packed in and as I'm putting drops in, in preparation for syringing tomorrow I am going through spells of being very deaf ie everything is just a jumble of surpressed noise......horrible!

Off for a wander.

I sometimes wonder if you have neighbours who worry about this person on very early morning walks.
Our road has had some s*** our in the middle of the night checking car doors. One as unlocked, & items were stolen.
A pal over the road went on an early jog a while back. The local WhatsApp fired up with “looks like someone casing the street again” messages 😂
He isn’t on the chat…his wife directly messaged the concerned resident 3 doors down to reassure them, & he is now allowed his morning runs in peace 💪

I see I have an email regarding the petition I signed against the introduction of ID cards and it's going ahead anyway. However, it would appear it is not compulsory and for most of us, shouldn't really be required if I'm reading it correctly.
Yes, you're correct and is why I'm perfectly happy with it. Initially only people in employment will the ID to establish their right to work, my understanding is the bulk of the data is already required but in paper form.

I will get one as I think other institutions will slowly begin to require ID. For example banks could make it easier to open an account with ID.
